As detailed elsewhere on the blog, this is a running list of links to various positive AI stories. I started this as there seems to be a running thread that all AI tools are somehow negative, and that there are no positive use cases, and most of those comments come across as either extremely ableist and/or elitist gatekeeping, and I’d like to counter that. I detailed this rationale a little in an older podcast episode (E0012 – AI Reflections), where the positive uses were all in helping individuals deal with disabilities or overcome boundaries, and I want to stress those, rather than the constant stream of negativity.
(Of course, there is a chance that some of these positive cases are the AI-equivalent of greenwashing, and yes, I acknowledge that can be a risk, but if people can find positive ways to use the tools to assist with disabilities or medical issues, then let’s recognize the good that they can do.)
